Adanech + Beza: My Favorite Day in Ethiopia

24th Jun 2013

Founder Trip: A word from Kirsten

Having the opportunity to visit the home of one of our artisans is
always a joy and privilege I cherish. Sophia and I were so honored to
spend the morning with Adanech and her precious daughter Beza.

Though she was rejected by her family because of being HIV+ and used to have
to beg to survive, she now has friends, hope and joy because of her
job with our jewelry partnership. She named her darling daughter
Beza--meaning "redemption"-- because her life is now good and hopeful.

As we left she grabbed my wrist and declared with great pride that
she made the bracelet I was wearing. I am so proud to wear it. Such
a beautiful woman and beautiful story of redemption.
