Miss Kansas USA: Empowering Women Through Pageantry
Audrey Banach, Miss Kansas USA, hit the road for Baton Rouge, Louisiana this week to compete for the country's crown! She packed her bags with the most essential fashion apparel and accessories; many of which were Raven + Lily.
Audrey is not your typical pageant queen: she has only competed in one competition which led her straight to Miss Kansas USA. She decided to compete when one of her professors at Kansas State University saw how passionate she was about using her voice to speak about important political and socioeconomic situations in the world. He encouraged her to use her voice to impact lives outside of the K-State community. Inspired by her mother's pageant days, Audrey decided to start using her voice through pageantry, knowing her words would be heard on a larger scale. Fast forward a few months and Audrey was being crowned Miss Kansas USA in Topeka, and since then her dedication to helping women find their voice has led her to love Raven + Lily, where empowering women is the passion and drive for what we do!
"I'm looking forward to the competition," Audrey said in between outfit changes at our exclusive Raven + Lily photo shoot, "I love speaking in front of people and I just pray that women see how confidence, passion, and positivity can change their world." She joked about how she is not going to speak about "world peace" but that she does believe each woman can embody peace in her own life, and loves how Raven + Lily gives opportunities for women to find peace through their work.
"I'm simply blessed to be where I am," Audrey said, "and blessed that others are listening to my words, because I want women to know they have beautiful things to contribute to the world. Raven + Lily artisans prove that simple fact in the most incredible way."
The photos were taken in Leavenworth, Kansas, Audrey's hometown, by Raven + Lily's Marketing Coordinator, Christine Knueven.
