KIRSTEN DICKERSON (Founder, CEO)
Before starting Raven + Lily, Kirsten’s career was divided by her passions for social justice and fashion.
She spent 15 years doing both styling work in the film industry and working alongside global non-profits.
Creating this brand has allowed her to unify her passions and capitalize her experience in both the
humanitarian and fashion worlds. Motivated by a belief that each person is valuable and uniquely created, Kirsten
is dedicated to empowering women to discover their full potential. She is passionate about promoting social
business models as a means of providing a dignified way to alleviate poverty, especially among at-risk women.
SOPHIA HIROKAWA LIN (Co-Founder)
Sophia is a designer, activist, and foodie. She has served as co-founder and creative director of Raven + Lily from
2008-2012. Prior to Raven + Lily, she was a creative director at Khana Shiro, an award-winning graphic design
agency that represented many of the leading men in Hollywood like Pitt, Clooney and DiCaprio. Sophia is an
entrepreneur at heart and has started multiple design-related companies, from real estate to graphic design.
However, her greatest passion is the intersection of design, social justice, and the environment.
COURTNEY RAFTER (Lead Designer)
A Philadelphia native and child of the '90s, Courtney spent her early years crafting her own fashion magazines out
of construction paper and doodling designs on loose leaf. Passionate and driven to create, Courtney went on and
studied Fashion Design at Philadelphia University from 2004-2008. She got her start interning at Betsey Johnson
and on Anthropologie's Print + Color team. A free spirit at heart, she naturally moved on to work at Free People.
For five years, Courtney grew as a designer for FP, learning, creating and traveling, with a focus on India. She has
been successful in developing positive working relationships her Indian vendors, and values building &
maintaining strong, sustainable relationships with the artisans that help bring her designs to you, one stitch at a time...
CAMERON CRAKE (Director of Operations)
After graduating from Texas A&M with degrees in Finance and Economics, Cameron moved to Kampala, Uganda
to work with Sseko Designs, a like-minded social business. As the International Development Director for Sseko
Designs, Cameron gained experience navigating the challenges that come with working in a developing country.
Living abroad and working firsthand with artisans solidified Cameron's belief that providing employment opportunities
is the most powerful way to transform the lives of impoverished women. She is incredibly passionate about the
idea of redeeming business- using it to transform lives and make the world a more beautiful place.
JACKIE GILLES (Boutique Accounts Manager)
Jackie has always had a passion for growing and developing the identity of brands with a conscious. After graduating
from The University of Texas with a degree in French and Advertising, she did marketing for KIND, Sweet Leaf Tea
and Dominican Joe Coffee. Soon an opportunity presented itself to take over The Forge Showroom, a company
that exclusively represented socially conscious apparel and accessory lines. For 3 years she and her business
partner grew the presence of Raven+Lily, 31 Bits, FEED Projects, Jedidiah and more in boutiques around the
country. She is excited to continue to represent Raven+Lily and show retailers that they can have fashion-forward
pieces in their stores that also alleviate poverty, empower women, and generally improve the lives of people in need all over the world!
KATE STAFFORD (Visual Media Director)
Born and raised in Austin, Kate is a photographer and designer. She has a passion for using visual elements in
connecting people to stories. After studying Studio Art at the University of Texas, Kate began a career freelancing in
many creative realms prior to launching her own photography business. With a love for collaboration, style and travel,
Kate found her niche in storytelling and editorial photography. She seeks to capture the world around her as naturally
and beautifully as she can. Joining the Raven + Lily team has married her love for all these elements and most
importantly allowed her to use her talents to help contribute to transforming lives.
GRACE CHIANG (Accounting Manager)
After having graduated from UT Austin with a Masters in Accounting in 2011, Grace jumped straight into financial
auditing with Austin accounting firm, PMB Helin Donovan. Upon visiting her husband who worked for a not-for-profit
in Afghanistan and being surrounded by a socially conscious community of friends over her time in Austin, Grace
knew that she wanted to be a part of a company whose purpose impacted the world in a compassionate and real way.
Grace is very excited to be joining a driven group of women at Raven + Lily in order to empower other women around the world!
MAGGIE OGDEN (Customer Service Coordinator)
Recently returned from the Peace Corps, Maggie started as an intern with Raven + Lily and has become an integral part
of the team. During her two years abroad, she helped women in Africa start a quilt making business to generate income.
The business is still thriving and changing Ugandan women's lives. As a University of Texas graduate, working for a
social business once she returned to Austin seemed like a natural fit!
ASHLEY MELNICK (Community Relations Coordinator)
Before graduating from Texas Christian University, Ashley served as the 2010 Miss Texas in the
Miss America Organization. Her year of service and public speaking led her to complete her final semester at TCU
in Washington, D.C., working for Bob Schieffer at CBS "Face the Nation". After graduating college, Ashley pursued
a career in broadcast journalism, working as an anchor-reporter at a CBS affiliate in Texas. And now combining her
background of journalism and public service, along with supporting her husband's charity in Haiti, "We Hear
Your Voice," it seemed like a natural fit to join the Raven + Lily team as a brand ambassador
and story-teller of the artisans behind the collection.
