A Philadelphia native and child of the '90s, Courtney spent her early years crafting her own fashion magazines out of construction paper and doodling designs on loose leaf. Passionate and driven to create, Courtney went on and studied Fashion Design at Philadelphia University from 2004-2008. In the summer of 2007, she lived in NYC and worked as a Dress Design Intern for Betsey Johnson. In 2008, while completing her senior year, Courtney interned on Anthropologie's Print + Color team. A free spirit at heart, she naturally moved on to Free People, getting her start with the brand as a Design Intern on the knits team in June 2008. For five years, Courtney grew as a designer for FP, learning, creating and traveling, with a focus on India. She has been successful in developing positive working relationships with her "partners in dream clothes-making" as she so lovingly refers to her Indian vendors, and values building & maintaining strong, sustainable relationships with the artisans that help bring her designs to you, one stitch at a time...
