The Inspiration Behind the Collection - Fall 2015

Posted by Kirsten Dickerson on 20th Aug 2015

I am so excited to introduce you to our Fall 2015 collection! I’ve been anticipating the launch of this beautiful collection for a long time, since we design a year in advance. The wait is worthwhile because we are extremely committed to the slow fashion movement. Allowing our artisans the time they need to produce the garments for a fair wage is so important to the idea of ethical,  slow fashion.

Our initial inspiration for this season came from traditional Pakistan patterns and silhouettes, but as the collection began to take shape, it began to have a Spanish feel. We decided to incorporate elements from Spain as well, that’s where the touches of bold red come from.

We chose a shoot location for our lookbook that mirrored the modern Spanish collection. The location was a vintage style hacienda, with old world elements and a romantic gothic feel. The home belongs to a dear friend in Austin, though you feel like you are miles away in the hills of Spain. It’s dramatic aesthetic was a perfect match with the vibe of the collection.

My favorite pieces this fall are the hand embroidered Farima Bohemian Buttondown, organic cotton Okello Poncho SweaterEvelyn Cylinder Pendant Necklace made of ethically sourced cow horn and recycled brass, the Petra Diamond Stud Earrings, the leather Azeb Clutch, and Getaway Tote. Click to shop this collection and support the women who worked so hard to create it!
