The Tahari Maxi Skirt made in Pakistan | Journey to Spring

Posted by Kirsten Dickerson on 29th Jan 2016

Raven + Lily has been working with Afghan refugee women in Pakistan border camps for over three years. We've seen their skills develop greatly and are excited to reveal the latest modern designs created by this talented group of women. The Tahira Maxi Skirt is just one of the many gorgeous embroidered pieces in the upcoming collection. It is intricately embroidered with a whimsical design. The full skirt in black on white linen is a classic, minimalist design.

Versatile, classic, and artisan made. We believe this elegant piece will be a staple in your wardrobe. Perfect for those Spring days, this piece is easily paired with a knit top and wrap sandal or dress it up with heels and a silk blouse for a night on the town. These women hand embroider on linen and hand woven cotton textiles to create amazing and unique pieces for Raven + Lily. Living on the border regions of Pakistan puts these women at the heart of dangerous territory, yet offers them stability within chaotic circumstances. The Pakistan line empowers these women artisans to live out of hope instead of fear.
