Raven + Lily is an ethical fashion and lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering women through jobs by design.

Who We Are:

Raven + Lily was created to alleviate poverty among women. We currently help employ over 1,500 marginalized women at fair trade wages in safe environments with sustainable income, health care, education, and a real chance to break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their families. We are proof that it is possible to scale a fair trade and innovative fashion brand while making a positive impact on others and the planet.

We create modern fashion, accessories, and home goods that are produced through long-term artisan partnerships employing women from around the world.

The Problem:

One-in-six people on the planet work in the global fashion industry; a majority are women earning less than $3 USD per day.

The fashion industry is the world's second-largest polluter behind the oil industry.

Our Solution:

We believe in empowering women.  When women are empowered to earn an income, they reinvest 90% of their income back into health, education, food, children, family, and the community.

Our partners set the price paid to the artisans ensuring a fair wage. This empowers the 1500+ women employed by our partners to break the cycle of poverty.

We research the source of our materials down to the buttons we use. By working with recycled or repurposed materials, we stop the waste that is typically associated with the fashion industry.

Our partners employ at-risk women: formerly trafficked, HIV+, previously homeless, or in oppressive situations. We empower women to earn a living that can support themselves and their families. This, in turn, allows for access to healthcare, education, and a shot at a prosperous life.

We mean what we say.  Raven + Lily is proud to be a B Corporation (Benefit Corporation) and we were named the Best for the World in Community Impact2014 and 2016. A B Corp is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk. B Corps are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

As a certified Benefit Corporation, we are committed to:

  • employing at-risk, impoverished women to improve their livelihood
  • eco-friendly practices in the sourcing of materials and in our design processes
  • honoring traditional artisan crafts and techniques
  • providing sustainable fair trade wages
  • creating exclusive, modern designs that reflect the beauty and culture of the women that create them
  • donating back to our artisan communities for healthcare and educational needs

We are current members of the Fair Trade Federation and Ethical Fashion Forum.  Plus, we were given the Sustainable Brand Leader for Jewelry award.
