“I come to work everyday and can provide for my family… I have hope because I know I have knitting work.”
I am a mother of 4 children living in a slum community in Nairobi, Kenya. I came from a family with an alcoholic father and wasn't able to finish my education. I took a knitting course and graduated with a certificate which has given me the opportunity to be employed with this good job. I come to work everyday and can provide for my family. We are all friends. I can help train the younger, newer women. We put all our minds together to come up with new ideas for knitting. We do our best and we appreciate when people buy what we have made. This helps improve our lives. I have hope because I know I have knitting work.
